EPK
Led by founder Bob Kendes, Bob Kendes & The Peace are at the forefront of a burgeoning music movement they call hip folk (hip hop + folk). Inspired by far ranging artists such as Dave Matthews, KRS One and Notorious B.I.G., The Peace's self titled debut is a powerful introduction to their signature style. Focusing on peace, love and positive energy, The Peace bridge the gap between the idealistic 60’s and the multicultural stew of today’s popular music. The Peace are both a reflection of American music today and a harbinger of what’s to come.
Defined as a musical style, hip folk is literally a melting pot of the hip hop and folk traditions. Take the rhythms of Jay-Z and the folk guitar of Jack Johnson, and you’re on the right track. Hip folk mixes adept lyricism with acoustic grooves to create a distinctly original sound that projects the future of popular music.

"...that blend of counterculture ideology and small-town America is alive and well on this self-titled debut album by the Peace, who favor a hip-hop-drenched style of alternative pop/rock that sometimes ventures into folk-rock territory... The end result is an album that is contemplative, funny, intellectual, good-natured, and eccentric all at the same time." - All Music Guide
