Bio

Adam Currie was born January 4, 1984 in Fairfield, CT, where he still resides today. Inspired by the music of John Lennon, The Rolling Stones and Bruce Springsteen, he taught himself guitar and began songwriting at the age of sixteen. He later studied music theory under Charlie Lagond at the Lagond Music School in New York. Years of innovative practice have yielded a totally unique “voice-guitar” sound now recognized as his signature style. Currie has toured much of the East Coast and had great success on the local Fairfield County club and festival circuit. He has received radio airtime in the North and Southeastern Untied States, as well as Mexico and Costa Rica, where his #1 requested single “I Think of You” was in the top five requested songs for ten straight weeks.

Currie's first, self-titled release in 2004 both solidified his local fan base and met critical acclaim from industry experts and fellow artists. Released by the independent label Hey! Records and prouduced by Carriage House Studios, the album's major hits “Hey” and “I Think of You” established Currie as a burgeoning young talent. Most importantly, it caught the ear of musician/producer Seth Glassmen (James Brown, Hall and Oates, Ronnie Spector, et al.), who–inspired by Currie's sheer potential and unique sound–produced his follow-up CD The Weight.

Currie is currently working on his third release, shooting a music video and fulfilling tour dates. His music–including brand-new single “Something She's Got”– is available on Itunes, Rhapsody, CDBaby, Napster, and Best Buy on the web.
