Bio
Samantha Baraf has been playing, writing, and performing music since she was a young kid. Self taught on the piano and guitar, she wrote one of her very first songs at the age of 14.
In 2002 Sam auditioned and received a spot singing her original song, "We're On Our Way," on an MTV video postcard commercial, commemorating the tragedy of 9/11.
In 2004, Sam attended NYU's Tisch School of the Arts where she majored in Musical Theatre. During her time at NYU she continued to write songs and in 2007 recorded an EP titled White Lined Pages. Sam has played and performed at countless open mic’s throughout Manhattan and Brooklyn and was crowned the winner of the May 2009 "StageBuddy" open mic competition. Winning the competition earned Sam the chance to perform at the "StageBuddy Variety Show" in Greenwich Village.
Sam's music is a blend of pop, folk, and rock. Check it out and enjoy!
